What is the age limit for participating in courses at SNØ?

At SNØ, we have four years as the lower age limit for our group courses. For four-year-olds, we offer ski play alpine course. For children younger than 4 years, we recommend private lessons.

Where should I meet when I have a course/private lesson?

All our group and private lessons have an attendance place at the course counter on the 1st floor. You will find the course desk in the innermost part of the Welcome Centre, next to the ski rental.

How long before the course starts should I meet at SNØ?

Make sure you turn up at the agreed time for the lesson to start, fully changed and with your equipment ready. It may be a good idea to calculate plenty of time to do away with toilet visits, get some food in your stomach and change into dry/warm clothes first. If you are going to hire equipment, we recommend that you turn up at least 30 minutes before the start of the course.

What information do I as a parent have to provide the ski school/instructors with before my child participates in a course?

In general, we do not need any special information other than what you have already provided during registration. If there is other information you think we should have, please contact us ahead of the course at kontakt@snooslo.no or talk to the instructor at the meet-up. We have a duty of confidentiality.

How do I know which course level that is right for me?

On this site you will find information about the different course levels. If you are still in doubt after reading this page, we will of course help you find the right level for you.

What equipment do I need to attend the ski school?

Even though SNØ is indoors, it is still about -4 degrees inside the snow zone. You should therefore dress as for a winter day with wool closest to the body, as well as a warm jacket, pants, gloves, buff and helmet. In addition, you need skis/snowboard (depending on which course you have signed up for), ski/snowboard boots and poles (children do not need poles). You can bring your own equipment or rent at the ski rental.

Is ski/snowboard rental included in the ski school?

Equipment is not included in the course price but can be rented at the ski rental on the 1st floor.

Are lift passes included in the ski school?

We do not have traditional lift passes at SNØ, but only one access gate that you scan into and then you have access to the entire facility. Entrance to the snow zone is included during the lesson itself, but if you want to stay on the slopes after the course is over, you must buy a SNØ pass.

How long my skis/snowboard be?

The length of skis/snowboards depends on how much you have skied/snowboarded before, but in general you can say;

Beginner children: skis/snowboard should reach up to chest height

Beginner adults: skis/snowboard should be your height minus 10-15 cm

It is also wise to keep in mind that the skis should be soft and easy to navigate. The more you have skied/snowboarded before, the longer/stiffer the skis/snowboard can be. But for children it is generally better with a little shorter skis in the beginning. If you are going to rent/buy equipment, we will help you find the perfect length for you.

When and where do I pay for the ski school?

You pay for the course at the same time as you book it on our website. Private lessons are paid for in our welcome center, before the lesson starts.

What do I do if I have to cancel a course or a private lesson?

Cancellation must be made in writing to kontakt@snooslo.no, as soon as possible and no later than seven working days before the course/private lesson begins. If canceled up to seven working days before start-up, the course fee minus an administration fee of NOK 100 will be refunded. Read more about our payment terms here.

Do I have to bring a booking confirmation when I show up for the ski school?

No, you do not need it. We have all the information we need, but you may want to stay up to date on details of the course on My SNØ.
