Five major businesses are launching a ticket fund
Lillestrøm Kultursenter, LSK, SNØ, NOVA Spektrum and Strømmen Storsenter are now joining forces for a common ticket fund with the possibility of free tickets to the various arenas and events. The goal is to contribute to enabling more people to have a positive experience in their own local area.
Numbers from Statistisk Sentralbyrå show that around 10 per cent of all children under the age of 18 live in a household with a persistently low income. According to Bufdir, these numbers are also representative of the municipalities in Romerike, with some internal variations between the different places in the area.
Now five of the major experience-based arenas at Romerike are entering into a new collaboration in the form of a joint ticket fund. The system that Lillestrøm Kultursenter, LSK, SNØ, Strømmen Storsenter and NOVA Spektrum have developed means that everyone can apply for free tickets to the arenas and events that the actors offer through 2024. At the same time, it is clear that families with children and individuals with challenges who enjoy a positive experience, will be prioritized.
Strømmen Storsenter is responsible for distributing the tickets to the people - along with a little surprise.
Social responsibility is important
It is the first time that the five experience-based actors in the region have collaborated on such a project. The collaboration is based on a common recognition that all the actors are important experience offers that many enjoy, and which help to make the region attractive and exciting both as a place to live and destination.
At the same time, the various actors are clear that it is important to show social responsibility at a time when more people have financial challenges than before, and where it can be especially demanding for low-income families to prioritize expenses other than those that are absolutely necessary. Based on the numbers which show that up to 10 per cent of the children who grow up in Romerike live in a household with persistently low income, there is a great need for a scheme that can help a selection of families with children who have challenges.
Inspired by others
Several of Norway's most famous attractions, such as the animal park i Kristiansand and the Aquarium in Bergen, have also established ticket funds. The same applies to certain other football clubs in Norway. The five partners have been inspired by these. At the same time, there are few examples from the rest of the country that people have come together across the various experience-based actors to create a common arrangement. Lillestrøm Kultursenter, LSK, SNØ, Strømmen Storsenter and NOVA Spektrum believe that the collaboration strengthens the scheme, and helps to make it available to more people by everyone contributing free tickets and other things into the scheme.
Application-based model
The various partners behind the ticket fund have developed a joint application portal which is accessible via the various companies' websites. Two allocation rounds are planned in 2024 and number free tickets that are awarded depend both on how many applications are received and on the capacity of the individual operator. The ticket fund is initially a trial project with a joint evaluation towards the end of the year before a possible continuation in 2025.
